With over 300 institutions around the world participating in the Worldwide Climate and Justice Education Week, the first week of April is sure to be filled with climate conversation and action around the world. The En-ROADS Climate Workshop: The Climate Conversation for Every Board, C-Suite, and Government Agency

The seminar will explore a virtual reality gallery on Wednesday, April 3rd. Please share this opportunity with your campus. Together we will explore art works, exchange with attending students at other schools, and respond to prompts curated by the hosting artist, Mira Musank.

The human-driven processes and impacts of climate change are disrupting young people’s lives and are putting their homes, institutions, and physical and mental health at risk. While young people may not always talk about these experiences in school or act outwardly distressed, their feelings about climate change are still making their way into the classroom. What can educators do to help young people navigate these difficult emotions? The Educator's Guide to Climate Emotions, written in collaboration with teachers, researchers, and mental health clinicians in consultation with youth climate leaders and climate psychology professionals, offers a variety of approaches for working with climate emotions in educational settings. Co-authors Carolyn McGrath and Kate Schapira will lead the workshop, providing an opportunity to learn more about the guide, ask questions, and hear about opportunities for deeper engagement.

The “How To?” Question: Exploring Approaches that Lead to Transformation and Sustainability

Calls for transformation have never been so clear and loud. Multiple pathways and alternative visions for the future have repeatedly been discussed at world summits. UNESCO, for instance, defined the standards for sustainability as early as 2015. Yet, there is very little common understanding of how such standards can be implemented, how transformations may come about, and how the gaps between knowledge and action toward sustainability can be bridged.
Our goal is to explore tools and spaces that until now have remained distinct. Our BRIDGING Communities Café Session will host practitioners from around the world. We will first introduce the holistic, creative, practical, and collaborative approaches that they have designed and tested, then will invite participants to join our exchanges and journey toward transformation. Learning how to promote a framework where justice and imagination as well as science and the fine arts can thrive in a healthy environment would be the outcome of our session.
